Please be kindly informed that on 5 November 2025 Narodowy Bank Polski will be putting into circulation a collector banknote The 1000th Anniversary of the Coronation of Boleslaus the Brave with the face value of 20 zł.
On the front side of the note on the left, the bust of Boleslaus the Brave leaning on the hilt of a sword and an image of an eagle on an escutcheon, surrounded by a wreath, beneath a crown – according to the print by Rudolf Fryderyk Friedlein from ca. 1857; to the left of the bust, vertically, composed of letters at a 90° angle, the inscription: TYSIĄCLECIE KORONACJI / BOLESŁAWA CHROBREGO (1000th Anniversary of the Coronation of Boleslaus the Brave), in the bottom left corner, the number: 20. Above the bust, the abbreviated numbering and the image of the Eagle established as the state emblem of the Republic of Poland. In the centre of the top part, the inscription: NARODOWY / BANK POLSKI; below, the inscription: WARSZAWA, 21 STYCZNIA 2025 R. (Warsaw, / 21 January. 2025); below it, the inscription: PREZES (Governor) and a signature, and the inscription: GŁÓWNY SKARBNIK (General / Treasurer) and a signature; in the background, the inscription: 1025. On the right, a decorative security stripe, with a print featuring a fragment of the bordure of the Gniezno Doors and the number: 20 and the inscription: zł. At the top right corner, the number: 20; below it, the inscription: DWADZIEŚCIA ZŁOTYCH (twenty złoty). In the lower right part, the full serial number and the head socket of the Lance of Nętno. The head socket, whose complement is featured on the back side of the banknote, is fully visible against the light. Along the right edge, a mark for the blind – vertically, composed of digits at a 90° angle, perceptible by touch, embossed number: XX
The back of the note (vertical arrangement) in the top right corner, the inscription: NARODOWY / BANK POLSKI; below it, the number: 20. Centrally, a fragment of the Gniezno Doors with scenes depicting: the purchase of St. Adalbert’s body from the Prussians by Boleslaus the Brave, the transfer of St. Adalbert’s body, and the burial of St. Adalbert’s remains in Gniezno; above it, a crown-shaped window cut into the paper. To the right, a replica of the head of the Lance of Saint Maurice and, along the edge, vertically, the clause: BANKNOTY EMITOWANE PRZEZ NARODOWY BANK POLSKI SĄ PRAWNYM ŚRODKIEM PŁATNICZYM W POLSCE (Banknotes issued by Narodowy Bank Polski are legal tender in Poland), composed of letters at a 90° angle. On the left, a fragment of the obverse and reverse of the Princes Polonie coin. In the bottom left corner, the number: 20; below it, the inscription: DWADZIEŚCIA ZŁOTYCH (twenty złoty).
