5 zł 250th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Warsaw Mint

Obverse

In the centre, on a separated, circular area, the image of the Eagle established as the state emblem of the Republic of Poland. Under the Eagle, on the right, the Mint Mark: m / w. Along the rim, on a separated area, the inscription: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA and, in the lower part, a semicircular notation of the year of issue: 2016, preceded and followed by a pellet. On the left-hand side of the coin, the image of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, on the right-hand side of the coin, the image of goddess Minerva holding an oval-shaped shield, against a separated, circular area with vertical lines. On the top of the separated area, the stylised, semicircular inscription: 1766 2016, divided with a vertical line; at the bottom, in an oval, the monogram of king Stanisław August Poniatowski; on the left, historical Warsaw Mint marks: WM and the Kościesza coat-of-arms; on the right, the Mint marks, present-day: m / w and historical: MW. Extending to the edges of the coin, top and bottom, left and right, stylised oak and laurel leaves

Reverse

in the centre, on a separated, circular area, the inscription: 5, at the bottom, the semicircular inscription: ZŁOTYCH; at the top, on the left and right, separated areas with vertical and horizontal lines and oak leaves. Above the separated, circular area the bust of Stanisław August Poniatowski in profile. On the sides of the image of the king, along the left edge of the coin, the inscription: 250. ROCZNICA / ZAŁOŻENIA, along the right edge, the inscription: MENNICY / WARSZAWSKIEJ – both against vertical lines. At the bottom, the image of the minting press with the coat-of-arms of Stanisław August Poniatowski; above, the fragment of the wreath of oak and laurel wrapped in ribbon carrying the inscription: PRO FIDE GREGE ET LEGE
