Along the upper edge, a semi-circular inscription: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA (Republic of Poland); below the inscription, on the left, a quote from Adam Krzyżanowski’s work The Sources and Symptoms of the Enrichment of Modern Societies, reading as follows: “Bogactwo materialne / samo przez się szczęścia / nie zapewnia. Prawdziwie / bogatymi są jedynie ci, którzy pojęli / i stosują zasadę, że najpewniejszą / drogą zapewnienia sobie szczęścia / w życiu doczesnym jest / skierowanie wszystkich / swych wysiłków ku / uszczęśliwieniu bliźnich. / Postępowanie wedle / tego moralnego / drogowskazu / jest jednak / w pewnej mierze / uwarunkowane / posiadaniem / bogactw / materialnych” (Material wealth in itself does not bring happiness.
